Faith Development
|

“We need to provide opportunities for the development of deep and authentic relationships. We need life-long skills, tools and attitudes to identify and dismantle oppressions and build bridges between people. The goals of religious education are to create and maintain a human environment and atmosphere where people of all ages can find and create a just community, grow and develop skills and the confidence to live their lives wholly, find and give comfort and solace, and celebrate life.”
(Ginger Luke, from The Children's Fire is the Community Fire)
Faith Development Ministry Statement
Unitarian Universalist’s believe that the search for truth and meaning is a life long process. Our mission is to provide our children and youth with a spiritual foundation based on our Unitarian Universalist principles and a sense of reverence. We will develop opportunities to nurture their spiritual, emotional, and intellectual growth through religious education, community building activities, and service. Our intention is to foster responsible stewards of our faith and its future.
Mission Statement
As our congregational Mission Statement reflects, River of Grass Unitarian Universalist Congregation values our children and understands the impact that religion can have on the life of a child. We believe that through religious education our children will learn the value of worship and the importance of reaching inward and outward.
